Connecting to B2C Customers this Holiday.

Consumers have hundreds of thousands of promotions coming at them all the time and even more come the holidays. How can you stand out from the masses? It’s worth taking some time to think about how your promotions stand up against your competitors and other businesses in your area. Here are 4 tips to engage with your B2C market this holiday season.

Prevent Holiday Stress

Yes, you may have a target market already worked out for your product and you know what pain point or stressor you're relieving for them but how about during the holidays? Over the holiday season you have an opportunity to find new customers or clients through the tradition of giving. Over 20% of Canadians plan to shop for the holidays last minute and they are not necessarily your existing clientele. How can you make it easier for them to buy from you? Gift guides are a great way to help new customers who may be shopping for a specific person on their list last minute. Also review your purchase funnel on your website, is it easy for someone to find and choose products, is it easy for them to check out, what is your in-store pickup procedure. All these items can either make the shopping process easy or difficult for the consumer. You can even dedicate an entire page of your website to gifting.

Seasonal Content Creation

What seasonal content can you create for your business? If you have a blog page what advice or help can you give to your customers? A pet shop could give advice on traveling with your pet over the holidays. A car mechanic could give advice on how to make sure your car is ready for all the winter driving. A roofer could give advice about how to hang lights without damaging your roof. A design firm could write about how to connect with customers over the holidays. Yes this post, and this post for B2B businesses, are great examples of holiday content for our target market! What seasonal advice could you offer in your blog to help your target market over the holidays?

Provide Subscribers or Followers with Early Access to Promotions

Planning on having a sale, for Black Friday, Small Business Saturday or Cyber Monday? Already have a subscriber list of past loyal customers? Invite them to a sneak peek of your holiday promotions. Whether it’s a special promotional code, coupon or a special invite only shopping event. Offer your best deals to your most loyal customers first.

Spread Some Cheer and Thanks

Even if you don’t want to have big promotions, spread some holiday cheer and thanks by sending a holiday greeting to your email list and make sure to thank your customers for the year. If you are so inclined, maybe provide a small promotion just for them to say thanks.
